Shoutbox

Just an suggestion to ad a shoutbox to the forum.

I've seen, a lot of people (probably including myself) who create new threads about subjects already existing. Sometimes we've quite a lot of different threads about the same thing.
I've also seen post were the OP just ask 1 question, already answered in another thread.

Due to this I think that a shoutbox would be a nice feature to the forum. That way we can easily ask a question without having to create new threads. I think it would help keeping the amount of duplicate threads down a bit.

It sounds like a great idea to have a place for people to quickly ask questions that they're not sure have been previously covered.

I'm not too sure if XenForo supports a chatbox by default, but it should be possible to add it through some sort of pluggin.

It's not like the forum is super active and overflowing with duplicate posts, so no, I don't think this is something BM should bother themselves with.

The shoutbox feature for forums is basically a instant message window on the side where members can exchange text messages without it being posted on the forums for the anals of history. So basically 1 big group chat. It tends to look pretty basic and not have much functionality past exchanging text messages.

It would definitely be useful. The problem I see, however, is the amount of people here. I think a shoutbox becomes incredibly chaotic and cluttered due to anyone being able to post at any given time. If we were to implement channels, however, this could be solved through global permissions that only allow a handful of non-staff shouts for every message by a staff member (Just an example of it, there's definitely better applications).

I wouldn't want them to make a priority out of it, though. If they could leave the work to someone else, that'd be amazing, considering I'd rather not have them take time out of game development for something we have no clue how it will work out.
