What a shame...

Well, 2.5 years (taking into consideration the year they've already spent) isn't a very long development cycle for even a large dev team. But they've already demonstrated that they are capable of getting a lot accomplished while working full-time jobs simultaneously. So I have faith that another 1.5 years of their full attention focused on creating the game that they'll be able to create something truly amazing :) It'll also help that they have spent years thinking about the story and mechanics so they have clear goals to work towards.

I, myself, had problems with the backer credit card transaction. My regular credit card blocked it as a security risk. Luckily I had a second credit card that I rare use.

The thing is that GTA+Morrowind slogan did nothing to lure me in. I've never played any GTA-games (frankly speaking their concept is a huge turn-off for me) and while I loved Morrowind some years ago, its time have passed. So I'd never back this project (or even found out about it) if not for a news column on my favorite site. I was interested why people kept talking about Sui Generis not getting enough attention and I decided to finally pay my first visit to Kickstarter. I can't describe what was that hooked me up the instant I saw your videos, I've not even seen your pitch video (because I was at work and I couldn't see it), but I think it was love at first sight. I think you deserve so much more than the sum you made your goal and I really, really hope you'll blow the gaming world up with the release of Sui Generis. Good luck and hello, everyone!

But, lets face it, GTA + Morrowind just doesn't do it justice!!!
Not only doesn't it do Sui Generis any justice, it generally doesn't even make any sense. Both are open-world games, GTA in a modern (semi-)realistic setting, Morrowind in a middle-aged fantasy one. Former is a third-person shooter (at least in what's nowadays associated with GTA), latter is a first-person RPG.
Now, what exactly is a mixture of these supposed to be like? A shoulder-view modern fantasy shooter-RPG? Doesn't really sound like Sui Generis, does it? :p

The required/desired Kickstarter target has been achieved, so clearly the marketing strategy worked!!!
I wouldn't really call 'let people figure sh*t out themselves' a marketing strategy. :p

Heres hoping modders might get a 1st person view possible and work well with the games mechanics. Even though I have no doubt the game will be awesome anyways! But 1st person is my favorite view

Not to contradict you or to raise the argument, but I really like isometric games. And I've never ever used first-person view in any TES games (or in any games it's used in). It's so very limiting for me; I love it when I don't need to turn my head frantically in order to see what's going on around me. Though considering amazing Sui Generis' engine it'd be a really interesting experience if there was 1st person view.

No one knows us. We have some cool things to show but we don't have a game yet. We have an original concept and lots of unconventional ideas but that's not helping us at all, it seems a lot of people don't understand what we want to do so they can't just say "that looks like fun, I'll back it".
They will know you in time, you guys are going to get a LOT of attention when the alpha is out, I guarantee you that :)

That's why I like third person (especially just for moving around). You get a nice view and increased awareness of your environment. It's win/win. Also, as you said, it's easier to take in the beautiful SG world.

I wouldn't want to play it in first person I don't think, the game world is beautiful already and the ISO view will help us appreciate it much more! The sky will be visible enough in reflections in water :)
