I never had a Nintendo of any sort. I did, however, have an old Atari just like is, including the 70s-style fake wood grain front edge to blend in with the TV/stereo consoles of the day

In fact, I think that's why they were called "console" game. Not because the game device was a console, but because they went into the TV console.
